Born as the only daughter to a prominent Werlytian Raen couple that made their home in Ishgard, Cassius' all too brief childhood in the city of stone and steel was marked with love and warmth; her seamstress mother spun threads as beautifully as she spun her tales, and her merchant father cuts an imposing figure that impresses as well as intimidates in the Jeweled Crozier. Many know of the tale of the Fleuret family: scorned for looking too much like "dragons", but they worked their way up to where they stood now, owning a respectable business and earning the favor of highborn and lowborn alike through their hard work, sweat and tears.But the rage and rancor that Cassius' parents had towards the injustice the city had done to their fellow Au Ra out of misguided prejudice wasn't a flame easily snuffed out, and knowing that the fire of vengeance would eventually burn them alive, they elected to send their young daughter and a trusted servant, along with most of the riches they had earned thus far, to neighbouring Gridania. To others, it was them moving their business elsewhere. But to her parents - and only to her parents - they had consigned to never seeing their only daughter again as they had chosen to cast their lot with the Dravanians — an act of heresy punishable only by death. And thus, while Cassius was instructed to hone her incredible magical talents into the art of conjury under the Conjurers' Guild, her parents' bodies were cast down the depths of Witchdrop. She wouldn't know of their fate until much, much later in her life.Cassius lived a sheltered life. The lie fed to her was that her parents had drowned at sea as they traveled to Hingashi, and despite her grief, she remained determined to live her life in the way her parents had showed her: a life full of kindness and love. Many knew her to be an incredibly kind-hearted and gentle person, even though her life had been beset by many a tragedy, such as the death of the servant that she had considered a dear uncle due to old age, and eventually marrying - and subsequently losing - a husband and child, two of countless lives lost in the Seventh Umbral Calamity.Determined thus that no one else should feel the suffering she endured, she divvied up the rest of her wealth to a few investments that she knew would allow her to keep a steady income stream, took her staff, said goodbye to the Conjurers' Guild an an otherwise illustrious position as a Hearer, and began a life of adventure in her own right as a traveling healer.

Lady Cassius Fleuret is more than happy to assist, free of charge if need be.  HOOK #2    : Ishgardian rootsShe might have not known Ishgard very well, but she's more than happy to speak with a fellow Ishgardian about life in the city that endured a thousand years of strife and war. Try not to immediately scorn her as a heretic when you find out that her last name is Fleuret; she doesn't know, though perhaps it would be a mercy if she's made to know... or if it's best to keep her in the dark.

  VERSE: INTONER    : the true story.PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS VERSE IS EXTREMELY LORE BREAKING. It is intimately tied to Shadowbringers MSQ & the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse alliance raid questline, with major elements from both Nier and Drakengard 3. All elements are virtually the same, with the marked difference that Cassius is born with dragon blood in her veins — her father had ingested dragon blood long before she was born, her parents' decision to stand with dragons made before she was conceived. As a result, her aether and her powers are already significantly augmented by dragon's blood, and she's unsure whether to consider it a blessing or a curse.
